Catechesis for Children

A focus is given to the formation and growth of young children. Through the care and service of lay people who are members of the Oratory Community and other Lay Communities, young children receive twice-weekly Catechism classes. The central location of the Oratory and the diverse communities it has grown into, offer the possibility of providing catechism beyond the local neighborhood.

Particular attention is given to the parents and families of these children so that, apart from promoting the formation of their faith, they also receive proper preparation before their child receives the sacraments of Holy Communion, Reconciliation, and Confirmation. Attention is also given to the central liturgical feasts, where moments of prayer are specifically held for all the children who attend, giving them the opportunity to go beyond their catechism class and feel part of the wider Oratory Community.
